The Gaia Foundation  Seed production training courses for 2021 

With the Seed Sovereignty programme planning for another 3 years, an ambitious seed training programme will be rolled out in Scotland over two years.  These courses aim to train seed savers in Scotland to a professional level.  The focus is primarilly on vegetable seeds and specifically for Scottish growing conditions.

The Gaia Foundation is passionate about regenerating cultural and biological diversity, and restoring a respectful relationship with the Earth. Together with long-term partners in Africa, South America, Asia and Europe, we work with local communities to secure land, seed, food and water sovereignty. By reviving indigenous knowledge and protecting sacred natural sites, local self-governance is strengthened. This enables communities to become more resilient to climate change and the industrial processes which have caused the many crises we now face.

Weekend Five of Scotland's Climate Assembly takes place this weekend on the 20th and 21st February.

Members will hear a small amount of new evidence this weekend, but will spend most of their time in discussion and review.

New evidence: On Saturday afternoon, Members will hear Chris Stark of the Climate Change Committee speak on ambition and costs.  On Sunday morning, they will hear a review of the recent government Climate Change Plan update.

Review: Looking back over the previous weekends, Members will have another opportunity to question a 'carousel' of experts on a multitude of topics.  They will do this in their discussion groups, within the same streams as Weekends 3 and 4.  A final task will be to discuss and agree on the Assembly's decision-making process.  The remainder of the weekend will be spent in deliberation.

Informed by our collective Visioning on 9th January, we'll:

• take stock of where Transition Scotland is as an organisation;
• define our priorities and working areas for the year ahead; and
• dream up some exciting juicy projects

... that keep us inspired and motivated to support Transition initiatives and other community climate action groups in Scotland.
